- Independently organize and execute short- and medium-term logistics cost planning and forecasting processes — applying quantity- and driver-based planning logic to build reliable logistics cost forecasts that support Gropper’s operational and strategic financial planning across all transport, warehouse and distribution cost categories.
- Track and analyze finished goods and merchandise quantities and losses across Gropper’s plants and warehouses — identifying loss patterns, quantifying their financial impact and working with logistics and production teams to implement targeted loss reduction measures that improve both product yield and cost efficiency.
Logistics KPI Reporting & Management Insights
- Create, maintain and continuously develop a recipient-oriented logistics reporting system — designing reports and dashboards tailored to the specific analytical needs of logistics managers, plant controllers and executive decision-makers, and enriching data outputs with meaningful commentary that interprets key developments and explains significant deviations from plan or forecast.
- Develop and further refine Gropper’s logistics KPI framework — identifying new performance metrics that better capture logistics efficiency, service quality and cost performance across the full transport and warehousing scope, and implementing these KPIs within the reporting system for regular management review and operational steering.
- Conduct profitability calculations and scenario analyses for both operational and strategic logistics decisions — providing quantitative financial modelling that enables Gropper’s logistics and senior management teams to evaluate alternative logistics structures, service provider strategies and investment options with rigorous economic evidence.
Overhead & Freight Cost Controlling
- Implement overhead cost controlling for all Gropper plants and warehouses — establishing plan/actual/forecast comparison frameworks for all logistics overhead cost categories, identifying cost variances early and working with logistics managers to understand root causes and implement corrective cost management measures.
- Control internal logistics operations including setting internal logistics tariffs — developing and maintaining a transparent internal logistics pricing framework that correctly allocates logistics costs across Gropper’s business units and ensures fair, accurate cross-charging of transport, warehousing and distribution services.
- Analyze freight and logistics costs comprehensively by price, quantity, structure and efficiency effects — applying structured freight cost decomposition methodology to differentiate between market price movements, volume changes, network structural shifts and operational efficiency gains or losses, providing management with the precise cost attribution insights needed for effective freight cost negotiation and management.
Management Advisory & Cross-Functional Project Leadership
- Advise logistics managers on economic issues — serving as the commercial and analytical business partner to Gropper’s logistics leadership, providing financial guidance on cost management decisions, investment cases and efficiency improvement prioritization in a way that strengthens the economic quality of operational logistics decision-making.
- Lead and manage cross-functional improvement projects — bringing analytical rigor, structured project management and confident cross-departmental communication to initiatives that improve logistics cost efficiency, data quality, system capabilities or process performance across Gropper’s dairy supply chain.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Completed university degree in economics, business administration or a related field — ideally with a specialization in logistics, supply chain management or controlling — or comparable professional training with substantial relevant professional experience in logistics cost controlling.
- Several years of professional experience in logistics controlling — preferably in the food processing industry, and ideally with specific experience in dairy processing or the freight forwarding sector, providing the industry-specific logistics cost understanding that Gropper’s complex, multi-plant dairy operation requires.
- Excellent SAP knowledge and strong MS Office proficiency — mandatory technical requirements for this Logistics Controller role.
