Position Overview

The Logistics Coordinator in Frankfurt manages all end-to-end logistics operations for heavy machinery and spare parts across domestic and international markets. You will coordinate multi-modal transportation (road, sea, air), manage the full import and export cycle, prepare and verify all required trade documentation, and proactively resolve shipment issues to keep deliveries on time and on budget. Working closely with sales, warehouse, finance, and service teams, you will also optimize logistics routes, manage freight forwarders and customs brokers, control logistics costs, and ensure full compliance with international trade regulations — all while maintaining accurate, audit-ready records of every logistics activity.

Why This Role Matters: As Logistics Coordinator in Frankfurt, you sit at the operational center of a complex, multi-country heavy machinery supply chain. Every shipment you coordinate, every customs document you verify, and every logistics issue you resolve determines whether critical machinery and spare parts reach customers on time — and in the industrial equipment world, delivery delays have real, measurable business consequences. For a logistics professional who enjoys international complexity, problem-solving under pressure, and building supplier relationships across global freight networks, this is one of the most commercially rewarding coordinator roles available in Germany today.

 Key Responsibilities

Transportation & Shipment Coordination

  • Coordinate domestic and international transportation arrangements across road, sea, and air freight modes — ensuring timely delivery and real-time tracking of all shipments
  • Monitor shipment status proactively, identifying and resolving logistics issues quickly to minimize delays and operational disruptions before they impact customers
  • Optimize logistics plans and transportation routes to improve delivery efficiency and reduce overall transportation and handling costs
  • Support insurance handling and claims processes for transportation damages, losses, or delays as required

Import & Export Management

  • Manage the full cycle of import and export processes — including preparation, verification, and timely submission of all required documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, customs declarations, and certificates of origin
  • Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, customs clearance requirements, Incoterms, and applicable company policies across all shipment types
  • Evaluate, select, and manage logistics service providers including freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers — ensuring consistent service quality and cost competitiveness
  • Handle logistics cost control, invoice verification, and payment reconciliation — ensuring financial accuracy and internal compliance throughout

Documentation & Records Management

  • Ensure all trade documentation is accurate, compliant, and readily available for audit purposes at all times
  • Support continuous improvement of logistics processes, systems, and documentation standards across the team

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with sales, service, warehouse, and finance teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment and flawless delivery execution
  • Report shortages, overstocking issues, quality concerns, and supplier performance matters to relevant internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate across multiple countries and time zones as required to manage international freight lanes and logistics partners effectively
