Position Overview
The Logistics Technician (Tool Room) in Abu Dhabi supports aviation maintenance operations by issuing and receiving tools to and from authorised maintenance personnel, maintaining accurate accountability records, verifying tool serviceability and calibration validity before each issue, monitoring calibrated equipment for calibration expiry, conducting routine tool inventories and periodic shift accountability checks, supporting discrepancy investigations and reconciliation before aircraft release, and ensuring full compliance with aviation Quality, HSE, FOD prevention, and Tool Control Programme requirements — in a safety-critical, procedure-driven aviation environment.

Key Responsibilities
Tool Issuance, Receipt & Accountability
- Issue and receive tools to and from authorised aviation maintenance personnel — maintaining accurate, up-to-date accountability records at all times
- Maintain positive control and full traceability of all tools throughout each complete issue-and-return cycle without exception
- Verify that all tools are serviceable and within applicable calibration and inspection validity periods before any issuance to maintenance personnel
- Identify and immediately report any missing, damaged, unserviceable, or overdue tools in accordance with established Tool Control Programme procedures
Tool Storage, Identification & FOD Prevention
- Maintain proper tool storage, clear identification, organised shadow boards and toolboxes, and accurate inventory records to support FOD prevention
- Ensure tools returned from maintenance activities are complete, clean, fully serviceable, and correctly returned to their designated storage positions
- Conduct routine tool inventories and scheduled shift and periodic accountability checks to maintain full inventory accuracy and traceability
- Support investigations and reconciliation of any tool discrepancies identified before maintenance activities or aircraft release, as applicable
Calibration Management & Equipment Control
- Monitor all calibrated tools and test equipment and coordinate their timely removal from service before calibration expiry dates are reached
- Maintain calibration status records and ensure only calibration-valid tools are available for issue to maintenance personnel
- Liaise with the calibration authority or relevant quality function to schedule and track calibration activities for all controlled tools
- Ensure calibration labels, status tags, and records are current, accurate, and visible on all calibration-controlled items in the tool room
Aviation Compliance, Quality & HSE Standards
- Comply with all aviation maintenance, Quality, Health Safety and Environment (HSE), FOD prevention, and Tool Control Programme requirements
- Support the organisation’s quality management system by maintaining documentation, records, and traceability in accordance with aviation regulations
- Assist in the receipt, storage, issuance, tracking, and control of aircraft spare parts, materials, consumables, and technical inventory
- Apply HAZMAT awareness procedures — or complete HAZMAT training as provided — when handling any hazardous materials within the logistics scope
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred
- High School Diploma with minimum 2 years of relevant logistics, warehousing, supply chain, technical stores, or military logistics experience will be considered
- Internationally recognised certification or training in Logistics, Supply Chain, Inventory, or Warehouse Management is an advantage
Experience Requirements
- Basic understanding of inventory control, stock management, receiving, storage, material issuance, and supply chain processes — academic or practical
- Preference for candidates with OJT, internship, or academic project exposure in aviation logistics, aircraft spare parts, MRO, military supply, or technical warehousing
- Exposure to reading and interpreting technical documents, manuals, parts information, and technical data is a valuable advantage for this role
Technical Skills & Other Requirements
- Must be able to read, write, and understand English — required for tool documentation, records management, and aviation compliance purposes
- Good computer skills — particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook — for records management, reporting, and communication tasks
- Familiarity with ERP, warehouse management, or automated supply systems is preferred and will be an advantage during onboarding
- HAZMAT awareness or formal HAZMAT certification is an advantage — formal training may be provided after joining if not already held
