Position Overview
This Maintenance Mechatronics Engineer role at Eaton in Dubai covers the full scope of industrial automation reliability — from developing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies for PLC-controlled machines, robotics, and integrated production equipment, through leading structured root cause analysis, optimizing control logic, and defining lifecycle management standards for electrical and mechatronic systems. You will own the performance of automation systems, lead robotic integration, define predictive maintenance approaches, support commissioning of new automated equipment, and provide technical leadership to maintenance technicians across Eaton’s Dubai operations.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Strategy Development
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies for automated systems including preventive, predictive, and corrective approaches
- Define and optimize maintenance plans and standards for electrical and mechatronic systems
- Establish inspection routines, critical component monitoring, and lifecycle management protocols
- Standardize maintenance processes, documentation, and control strategies including technical specifications and troubleshooting guidelines
Automation Reliability & Root Cause Analysis
- Drive reliability improvement of automation systems by analyzing downtime, MTBF, and MTTR metrics
- Identify failure modes in electrical, control, and mechatronic systems and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Lead structured root cause analysis using RCA, A3, and 5 Why methodologies
- Ensure sustainable elimination of recurring failures across PLC-controlled machines and robotic systems
PLC, HMI & Control Systems Ownership
- Own performance of PLC-controlled equipment, robotic systems, and HMI and industrial control systems
- Support and optimize PLC, safety controllers, and HMI systems ensuring robust operation and system stability
- Drive continuous improvement of automation solutions by optimizing control logic, system integration, and machine performance
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to align automation performance with production requirements
Robotic Systems Integration & Predictive Maintenance
- Lead integration and optimization of robotic systems and automation components into existing production processes
- Ensure compatibility, reliability, and performance of robotic system integration
- Define and deploy predictive maintenance approaches leveraging system data, diagnostics, and failure trends
- Reduce unplanned downtime through data-driven predictive maintenance strategies
Commissioning Support & Technical Leadership
- Support commissioning and industrialization of automated equipment ensuring system robustness and readiness for serial production
- Provide technical leadership to maintenance technicians, supporting complex troubleshooting of electrical, automation, and control issues
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including engineers, toolmakers, and OEM partners for system optimization and upgrades
- Prepare technical reports, system documentation, and maintenance records to required professional standards
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar qualification (REQUIRED)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial automation (REQUIRED)
- Knowledge of cam-controlled machines such as Bihler (preferred), Wafios, and Finzer
- Experience with high-speed automatic assembly lines including Stiwa, PIA, Festo, Omron, B&R, and DA Automation
- Experience with Arburg or Engel machines for 1 and 2 component tools and molding infrastructure such as Wittmann drying systems
