Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician at KONE Dubai is not a background role — it is the heartbeat of the company’s service operations. You will be on-site, in the field, performing planned preventive maintenance, responding to callouts, and conducting service repairs for KONE’s elevator and escalator equipment across Dubai’s residential, commercial, and mixed-use properties.

Beyond the technical work, this role carries real accountability for customer relationships, equipment safety, site risk management, and service quality reporting. KONE is looking for technicians who bring both a strong technical foundation and a genuine service mindset — people who take pride in keeping equipment running safely and keeping customers informed and satisfied.

Why This Role Matters: Every time someone steps into a lift, they trust it to work perfectly. As a KONE Maintenance Technician in Dubai, that trust rests on your expertise, your attention to detail, and your commitment to quality. With KONE’s Top Employer certification across four GCC nations and an active growth phase in the UAE, this is your chance to build a long-term, rewarding technical career with one of the most respected names in the global elevator and escalator industry in 2026.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Management

  • Deliver consistent customer satisfaction through high-quality service execution and proactive, precise on-site communication — including callout ETAs, work performed updates, and equipment status reports
  • Maintain accurate and real-time back reporting of all work performed at the equipment level, ensuring full traceability and transparency for customers and internal teams
  • Build positive, professional relationships with building managers, end users, and site contacts — representing KONE’s brand standards in every interaction
  • Identify and promptly escalate unplanned service repair needs based on equipment condition assessments, ensuring no safety-critical issues go unaddressed

Service Operations & Maintenance Execution

  • Execute all planned preventive maintenance visits, emergency callouts, and service repairs in full compliance with KONE’s maintenance instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards
  • Respect scheduling requirements and callout time limits, ensuring response times meet customer service level agreements and KONE’s operational commitments across Dubai
  • Maintain safe working practices at all times — ensuring both end-user safety and personal safety are upheld on every visit in accordance with KONE’s safety framework
  • Submit accurate and timely timesheets and service reports following each visit, maintaining complete records of work done, parts used, and follow-up actions required

Equipment Safety & Risk Management

  • Take full accountability for equipment safety and performance across all assigned elevator and escalator units — ensuring every system operates within KONE’s defined safety standards
  • Proactively identify site risks during each maintenance visit and communicate them clearly and promptly to the supervising engineer or service manager
  • Take immediate corrective action on-site when high-risk situations are identified, following KONE’s escalation procedure without delay to protect end-user safety
  • Monitor and report on equipment performance trends, flagging deterioration or recurring fault patterns that may indicate deeper reliability issues requiring engineering intervention

Tools, Reporting & Supervisor Communication

  • Keep all service tooling, KONE service van, test instruments, and field equipment safe, clean, well-maintained, and in excellent working condition at all times
  • Provide regular and structured updates to the supervisor on all relevant field information — including equipment status, customer feedback, sales leads, and operational challenges
  • Identify and escalate sales leads and service upgrade opportunities observed during field visits to the supervisor, contributing to KONE’s revenue growth goals
  • Use KONE’s digital tools and reporting systems accurately — candidates with basic IT and digital foundation skills are strongly preferred for this role

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • ITI, Vocational Certificate, or Diploma in Engineering — specifically in Electrical, Electronics, or Automation streams, or an equivalent technical qualification
  • Basic IT literacy and digital foundation skills are a strong preference and will differentiate candidates in the selection process

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2–5 years of solid, hands-on Preventive Maintenance and Troubleshooting experience with a reputable elevator company — this is a mandatory requirement, not a preference
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve elevator or escalator faults independently in a live field service environment with minimal supervision
  • Previous UAE or GCC field service experience is a strong advantage given the regional nature of this role and KONE’s expansion across the Middle East

Soft Skills & Communication

  • Good verbal and written English communication skills — essential for accurate reporting, customer communication, and coordination with the supervising engineer
  • Service-oriented mindset with genuine commitment to customer satisfaction, equipment reliability, and professional conduct on every site visit
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable — able to manage an independent field schedule while maintaining KONE’s high standards for quality and safety
