Position Overview
The Quality Lab Officer at GMG’s Farm Fresh division in Dubai is a technically demanding, hands-on role at the heart of the company’s food quality and safety operations. You will execute laboratory tests across microbiological and chemical parameters, ensure all results are documented accurately, coordinate testing schedules with the production team, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment to the highest operational standards. Your work directly ensures that every product leaving the Farm Fresh facility meets GMG’s strict internal quality benchmarks and UAE food safety regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Testing & Quality Execution
- Execute precise microbiological and chemical laboratory tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to ensure full compliance with quality standards
- Set up, calibrate, and operate laboratory instruments and testing equipment, maintaining them in optimal working condition at all times
- Conduct routine and non-routine quality tests as directed by the Quality team to support daily food manufacturing operations at Farm Fresh
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records of all laboratory test results, observations, and quality data in both physical and digital formats
- Ensure all laboratory activities are conducted in full compliance with UAE food safety regulations, internal GMG quality standards, and relevant international food safety benchmarks
- Prepare clear, timely quality reports and communicate findings to the Quality Manager and relevant production stakeholders
Production Coordination & Lab Management
- Coordinate laboratory testing schedules and analyses closely with the production team to ensure testing timelines align with manufacturing workflows and do not cause production delays
- Manage laboratory equipment maintenance schedules, calibration records, and consumables inventory to ensure the lab operates efficiently at all times
- Identify and report any quality deviations, non-conformances, or safety concerns to the Quality team for prompt corrective action
Quality Team Support
- Support the broader Quality Assurance team with testing data, analytical results, and laboratory insights to drive continuous improvement across Farm Fresh production
- Assist in implementing and maintaining food safety management systems and quality protocols across the division’s laboratory function
- Contribute to internal and external quality audits by providing accurate laboratory data and maintaining inspection-ready documentation at all times
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a closely related scientific field is required
- Additional certifications in food safety, HACCP, or laboratory quality management are an advantage
Experience Requirements
- 3 to 4 years of relevant laboratory experience, specifically within food manufacturing, food production, or FMCG environments
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in microbiological testing, chemical analysis, and food quality laboratory operations
- Prior experience in food safety documentation, quality reporting, and compliance within a regulated food production setting
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, laboratory safety protocols, and relevant UAE and international regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in ERP systems for laboratory data entry, result tracking, and quality management reporting
- Competence in Microsoft Office tools — particularly Word and Excel — for documentation and data analysis
