Position Overview

The Quality Manager at Al Rashed Food Company is a senior, director-level position responsible for leading and managing all quality assurance, quality control, food safety and regulatory compliance activities within a large-scale bakery manufacturing facility in Riyadh. The successful candidate will develop and maintain Quality Management Systems and Food Safety Management Systems, ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, GHP, ISO 22000, BRCGS and SFDA regulations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction across all production lines.

 Key Responsibilities

Quality & Food Safety Management Systems

  • Develop, implement and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) across the bakery manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure full compliance with HACCP, GMP, GHP, ISO 22000, BRCGS, FSSC 22000, SFDA regulations and all customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Lead food safety and quality assurance initiatives across all production lines and departments within the facility.
  • Maintain direct responsibility for product safety and quality operational records, CCP and OPRP records used on the production floor.
  • Ensure and coordinate all food safety-related activities within the Food Safety Team on an ongoing basis.

Quality Control & Non-Conformance Management

  • Oversee incoming raw material inspections, in-process quality checks and finished product evaluations to ensure consistent product standards.
  • Ensure laboratory testing, microbiological analysis, shelf-life studies and sensory evaluations are conducted effectively and on schedule.
  • Follow up on corrective actions and control nonconforming products until all deviations or unsatisfactory conditions regarding product safety and quality are fully resolved.
  • Coordinate actions to prevent the occurrence and recurrence of non-conformances related to products, processes and the Food Safety Management System.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of product contamination and product recall issues when they arise.

Audits, Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

  • Coordinate the internal and external audit process as per schedule — maintaining full audit readiness and ensuring timely closure of all audit findings.
  • Liaise directly with SFDA, certification bodies and external auditors on behalf of the facility and the wider organization.
  • Conduct or coordinate supplier audits as required to ensure all suppliers meet minimum product safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure all food safety documents are checked, available at the point of use and kept fully up to date at all times.
  • Coordinate accurate record keeping and maintenance of all documentation as required by food safety procedures and work instructions.
  • Attend Food Safety Team Members Review Meetings and take meeting minutes for timely circulation to all relevant stakeholders.

Cleaning, Sanitation & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure cleaning and sanitation for all equipment and facility areas is performed as per schedule and that cleaning standards are satisfactorily maintained across all production operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Provide supervision, information and training to all product-handling staff to build food safety capability and culture across the facility.
  • Ensure that people and equipment safety, maintainability and continuous improvement projects are delivered on time and within budget while retaining world-class manufacturing standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, or a closely related field — mandatory requirement.
  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is a recognized plus for this director-level position.
  • Certified HACCP Practitioner — mandatory certification for this role.
  • ISO 22000 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification — preferred and highly valued.
  • BRCGS and/or FSSC 22000 implementation experience — highly preferred for this role.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control within the food manufacturing industry.
  • At least 2–3 years in a managerial or supervisory quality leadership role within food production.
  • Strong, practical knowledge of SFDA food safety regulations and Saudi Arabia labelling requirements.
  • Proven experience managing customer audits, third-party audits and certification body inspections.
