Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Beverage Product Development
- Lead the complete beverage product development cycle — from initial ideation and concept brief through to full factory commercialisation
- Conduct laboratory trials, prepare pilot batches, and perform rigorous formulation optimisation for both new and existing products
- Design and test beverage formulations for taste, texture, appearance, nutritional profile, and shelf stability targets
- Manage all development milestones and project timelines to ensure products are ready for commercial production on schedule
Stability Testing, Shelf-Life & Sensory Evaluation
- Perform comprehensive stability testing and shelf-life studies to validate product performance across storage and distribution conditions
- Organise and execute sensory evaluation panels to assess consumer acceptance, product quality, and sensory profile consistency
- Analyse stability and sensory data to identify reformulation needs and implement targeted product improvements
- Ensure product quality and consistency are validated and documented prior to all commercial-scale production runs
Technical Documentation & R&D Reporting
- Develop and maintain detailed product specifications, formulation sheets, and comprehensive technical development files
- Prepare accurate, professional R&D reports documenting all trial outcomes, formulation decisions, and development milestones
- Create and update product label declarations, ingredient lists, nutritional information, and regulatory compliance documentation
- Maintain well-organised R&D records ensuring traceability and auditability of all product development activities
UAE Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all beverage products fully comply with UAE food safety regulations and current ESMA (Emirates Authority for Standardization) standards
- Apply HACCP principles, GMP requirements, and ISO 22000 food safety management standards throughout all development activities
- Liaise with regulatory, quality, and production teams to ensure product compliance from development stage through to commercial launch
- Monitor and respond proactively to regulatory updates affecting beverage product development and labelling in the UAE market
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance (QA/QC), Procurement, and Sales teams throughout the full NPD process
- Support Production teams during scale-up, factory trials, and process validation to ensure smooth product commercialisation
- Collaborate with Procurement on raw material evaluation, ingredient sourcing, and supplier qualification for development projects
- Provide technical support to Sales and Commercial teams for customer presentations and new product innovation discussions
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific discipline
- Additional qualifications or certifications in beverage technology, HACCP, ESMA compliance, or ISO 22000 are strongly advantageous
Experience Requirements
