Position Overview
This Rotating Equipment Technician role involves working independently and assisting other technicians in the strip-down, cleaning, inspection, repair, and assembly of rotating equipment, including stripping down and rebuilding compressors, steam turbines, and pumps. You will perform detailed inspections including dimensional checks, runout measurement, residual magnetism verification, and ERO inspection, record repair work, and ensure all work is inspected and signed off before proceeding.

 Key Responsibilities
Equipment Repair & Rebuilding
- Maintain and care for all equipment, tooling, and machines used
- Work independently and assist other technicians in strip-down, clean, inspect, repair, and assembly of rotating equipment
- Strip down and rebuild compressors, steam turbines, and pumps
Precision Inspection & Quality Control
- Perform detailed inspection of removed parts, including dimensional checks and runout measurement
- Conduct residual magnetism verification, ERO inspection on burnishing areas, and visual inspection
- Perform clearance checks for rotating equipment
Documentation & Safety Compliance
- Record repair work, inventory parts, and inform Supervisor of new parts required
- Ensure all work is completed, inspected, and signed off before passing on the next operation
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, contributing to the company’s QHSE performance
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- ITI in Mechanical Fitters + NCVT
- Diploma in mechanical discipline preferred, although not essential
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of previous experience
- Demonstrated advanced skills in compressor and steam turbine repairs
Essential Skills
- Proficient with various hand tools for equipment maintenance
- Understanding of cleaning and preservation, and QC dimensional check equipment
- Ability to read technical drawings for all rotating equipment
- Basic understanding of high-pressure hydraulic tooling and rotor concentricity checks and NDT
- Good knowledge of codes and regulations dealing with rotating equipment
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Basic Microsoft Software knowledge covering Excel, Word, and Outlook
Physical Requirements
- Light physical effort, sufficient ability to work in a workshop environment
- May require travel across the Middle East and GCC countries
