Position Overview
The Supplier Compliance Specialist at Qatar Airways Catering Services is responsible for protecting the integrity of the airline’s global supply chain through rigorous supplier risk assessments, compliance audits, food safety validation, and halal adherence monitoring. You will manage AQL inspections, maintain comprehensive audit documentation, prepare annual Compliance and Quality Assurance reports, support vendor onboarding, and provide analytical insights that drive continuous supplier performance improvement. Key Responsibilities
Supplier Risk Assessment & Compliance Audits
- Manage end-to-end supplier risk assessments and conduct rigorous compliance audits across Qatar Airways’ global supply chain, covering manufacturing sites, quality systems, and regulatory adherence
- Validate supplier certifications, food safety management standards, halal compliance documentation, and all applicable regulatory requirements to ensure Qatar Airways’ supply chain remains fully protected
- Identify poorly performing vendors through systematic performance monitoring, recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions, and track improvement progress through to verified closure
- Prepare detailed, professional audit reports and provide full compliance documentation to support Qatar Airways’ due diligence defense in any compliance-related regulatory or legal matter
Manufacturing Quality, AQL Inspections & Product Sampling
- Monitor manufacturing and quality processes across the international supplier base, including product sampling, AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) inspections, and material standards verification
- Support the development and execution of product recall processes, ensuring the appropriate test protocols are in place and can be activated with urgency when required
- Participate actively in vendor onboarding, supplier briefings, and technical evaluations to ensure compliance requirements are clearly communicated and embedded from the earliest stages of supplier engagement
Food Safety & Halal Compliance Management
- Validate and monitor halal compliance across all relevant suppliers in Qatar Airways’ catering supply chain, ensuring full adherence to applicable halal certification standards and requirements
- Support the implementation of Qatar Airways’ food safety policies and environmental management objectives across all supplier-facing compliance activities and audit programs
- Work closely with catering operations and procurement teams to ensure food safety compliance is seamlessly integrated into every stage of the supplier relationship lifecycle
Reporting, Documentation & Analytical Insights
- Produce comprehensive annual Compliance and Quality Assurance reports and maintain a complete, current, and audit-ready library of supplier compliance documentation at all times
- Provide data-driven analytical insights on supplier performance trends and risk indicators using Microsoft Office tools, Power BI, and other analytical platforms to support evidence-based decision-making
- Collaborate actively with Procurement, Supply Chain, Product Development, and Catering teams to ensure compliance requirements and supplier performance data are fully integrated across all business functions
Stakeholder Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Engage and collaborate with internal stakeholders, international suppliers, regulatory authorities, and cross-functional teams to drive ongoing continuous improvement across Qatar Airways’ global supply chain compliance program
- Assist with emergency response situations and major operational disruptions as required, applying compliance expertise to support rapid and effective resolution of supply chain quality issues
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or Vocational Qualification combined with a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Safety, Quality Management, Supply Chain, or a related scientific or technical discipline
- Strong academic and applied understanding of food safety management systems, quality assurance frameworks, and halal compliance requirements as applied in global supply chain environments
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in Food Safety, Quality Management, and Compliance — with a demonstrated focus on supplier audit management and QA program oversight
- Proven experience managing Quality Assurance programs and conducting supplier compliance audits within a complex, multi-supplier or international supply chain environment
- Working understanding of halal certification requirements, food sampling methodologies, and AQL inspection standards as applied in food manufacturing or catering supply chain contexts
Technical & Soft Skills
- Strong data interpretation and analytical capabilities including proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, Power BI, and other data visualization or reporting platforms
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage effectively with international suppliers, regulators, and senior internal stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and operate with a high degree of independence — while also supporting and guiding cross-functional team members when needed
