Position Overview
The Supply Chain Compliance Officer at BD Rowa in Kelberg serves as the central force keeping BD Rowa’s supply chain resilient, compliant, and future-ready across three critical pillars. This role tracks and translates regulatory requirements into supplier and material compliance actions, owns and evolves the Supplier Risk Management framework, leads cross-functional risk assessments including supply, geopolitical, financial and regulatory risks, drives mitigation strategies, and manages the end-to-end Supply Chain Business Continuity Planning programme — in a regulated MedTech environment that demands structured thinking, regulatory fluency, and the confidence to act with authority across complex cross-functional landscapes.
Why This Role Matters: As Supply Chain Compliance Officer at BD Rowa in Kelberg, you protect the integrity of a global MedTech supply chain that ultimately delivers to patients and healthcare providers around the world. Your RoHS and WEEE compliance work ensures BD’s products can continue to be sold in regulated markets, your supplier risk framework prevents disruptions that could impact healthcare delivery, your ESG and Responsible Sourcing governance builds stakeholder trust, and your Business Continuity Planning ensures that when crises happen — as they inevitably do — BD Rowa is prepared, protected, and ready to recover. This is supply chain compliance that genuinely matters beyond the balance sheet.
Key Responsibilities
Product Compliance Governance
- Track and translate upcoming regulatory requirements — including RoHS, PPWR, WEEE, TSCA/TCPH, ESG, and Responsible Sourcing — into practical supplier and material compliance actions
- Lead cross-functional compliance risk assessments and develop structured mitigation plans to address regulatory exposure across the supply chain
- Ensure timely, accurate regulatory reporting and governance across all product compliance activities within BD Rowa’s supply chain
- Monitor evolving EU and global regulatory landscapes and proactively communicate compliance implications to Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations
Supplier Risk Management
- Own and continuously evolve BD Rowa’s Supplier Risk Management framework — keeping it fit for purpose in a fast-changing global supply environment
- Lead comprehensive risk assessments covering supply, geopolitical, financial, and regulatory dimensions — and translate findings into management reports
- Drive proactive risk mitigation actions including dual sourcing strategies, strategic inventory approaches, and targeted supplier development initiatives
- Monitor external risk signals — geopolitical developments, supplier financial health, logistics disruptions — and coordinate BD Rowa’s disruption response
Business Continuity Planning
- Own the Supply Chain Business Continuity Programme end-to-end — from design through testing, review, and live crisis activation when needed
- Coordinate comprehensive Business Impact Analyses and develop continuity and recovery plans for critical supply chain scenarios
- Lead periodic BCP reviews, structured testing exercises, and crisis preparedness activities across relevant Supply Chain stakeholders
- Build and maintain BD Rowa’s supply chain crisis response capability — ensuring the organisation can respond effectively to any supply disruption
Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Connect the dots across Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, and external partners — leading complex cross-functional topics without always having direct authority
- Communicate compliantly and confidently at both management and specialist levels in both German and English across all three programme areas
- Influence suppliers, internal stakeholders, and leadership through structured, data-driven analysis and well-constructed risk and compliance narratives
- Champion a culture of compliance accountability and supply chain resilience across BD Rowa’s operational and commercial teams
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, Engineering, or a closely related discipline
Experience Requirements
- Proven experience in at least one of: Supplier Risk Management, Supply Chain Compliance, Business Continuity Planning, Product Compliance, or Regulatory Governance
- Background in a regulated industry — MedTech, pharmaceutical, automotive, or similar — is strongly preferred for this compliance-critical role
- Strong analytical skills combined with a structured, hands-on approach to managing complex compliance and risk programmes simultaneously
Language Requirements
- Fluent German — required for daily communication with internal teams, suppliers, and German regulatory stakeholders
- Fluent English — required for BD global team communication, international supplier management, and cross-functional programme reporting
Essential Skills & Competencies
- Ability to lead cross-functional compliance and risk topics with confidence — influencing without direct authority across complex organisational structures
- Confident, clear communicator at both management board and technical specialist levels — adapting register and depth appropriately
- Structured thinker with the ability to turn regulatory complexity and risk ambiguity into clear, actionable programme plans
- Self-starter who thrives on complexity, takes ownership proactively, and delivers structured results in a regulated MedTech environment
