Planning Scope — Three Core Pillars
S&OP / Demand Planning: Independent demand planning for defined products and customers — forecasting, analysis, and stakeholder coordination

Position Overview
This Supply Chain Planner role at Recipharm in Wasserburg am Inn, Bavaria covers three interconnected planning disciplines — S&OP and demand planning, production scheduling, and material management — all within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical contract manufacturing environment. You will independently execute demand planning for defined product and customer portfolios, create and monitor detailed production plans, ensure continuous material availability through SAP, manage escalations and supply risks, and actively contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes. Key Responsibilities
S&OP / Demand Planning
- Independently execute demand planning for defined products and customer accounts — developing accurate, statistically grounded demand forecasts that align supply chain capacity and material procurement with realistic future customer requirements
- Analyse forecasts systematically — identifying demand trends, seasonality patterns, and deviation signals — and coordinate all relevant demand changes with internal stakeholders (Production, Sales, Management) and external partners (customers, suppliers) in a structured, timely manner
- Participate actively in the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process — preparing, validating, and presenting key planning figures and demand performance metrics that support cross-functional alignment between commercial and operational planning
- Maintain and continuously improve demand planning accuracy — monitoring forecast error metrics, identifying root causes of planning deviations, and implementing corrective measures that enhance the reliability of the demand signal across the pharmaceutical supply chain
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Create, schedule, and actively monitor detailed production plans across Recipharm’s Wasserburg pharmaceutical manufacturing operations — taking into account production capacities, machine availability, material readiness, and firm customer delivery requirements
- Prioritise production orders effectively — managing and resolving production bottlenecks, capacity conflicts, and escalations with speed and decisiveness to protect customer delivery commitments without compromising GMP-compliant manufacturing standards
- Ensure economical and efficient resource utilisation across the production schedule — balancing productivity, flexibility, and cost efficiency while maintaining the pharmaceutical quality standards required in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment
- Communicate production plan status, deviations, and risks proactively to internal stakeholders — maintaining full transparency across Production, Quality Management, and Supply Chain teams throughout the execution of each production cycle
Material Planning & Supply Risk Management
- Ensure continuous material availability throughout the entire pharmaceutical production process — planning, monitoring, and managing raw material, excipient, and packaging material requirements with precision to prevent production stoppages and delivery delays
- Monitor inventory levels, material requirements, and supplier delivery dates in SAP — maintaining accurate, real-time visibility of the material supply situation and proactively identifying supply risks before they impact production continuity
- Initiate and follow up appropriate measures in response to supply risks and shortages — coordinating urgently with Purchasing, Warehousing, and Production teams to implement fast, effective solutions that protect the production plan and customer delivery commitments
- Collaborate closely with Purchasing, Warehousing, Production, and Quality Management on a daily basis — ensuring cross-functional alignment on material availability, incoming goods quality, stock management, and production readiness at every stage of the supply chain
GMP Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure all planning and scheduling activities are carried out in full adherence with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) requirements applicable to pharmaceutical manufacturing — maintaining the regulatory integrity of every planning decision and output
- Participate actively in the continuous improvement of planning and scheduling processes — proposing, testing, and implementing process optimisations that enhance planning accuracy, reduce lead times, and improve overall supply chain efficiency within GMP constraints
- Maintain accurate, GMP-compliant planning documentation in SAP — ensuring that all production orders, material movements, schedule changes, and deviation records are documented correctly and available for regulatory review and audit purposes
- Support internal and external supply chain audits — providing planning data, process documentation, and performance metrics that demonstrate Recipharm’s compliance with GMP and pharmaceutical supply chain best practices
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Completed commercial or technical vocational training (Ausbildung) with further education or academic studies in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a closely related field
- Formal qualification or continuing professional development in production planning, material management, or supply chain management — preferably with relevant pharmaceutical or GMP-regulated industry content
Experience Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience in production planning, material planning, or supply chain management — ideally gained within a pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical device, or GMP-regulated industrial production environment
- Solid, hands-on working knowledge of production planning methodologies, material requirements planning (MRP), and supply chain management principles as applied in a regulated manufacturing context
- Confident, proficient daily use of SAP for production and material planning activities — including MRP runs, production order management, inventory monitoring, and delivery date tracking
- Advanced MS Excel proficiency — for demand analysis, planning scenario modelling, KPI tracking, and preparation of S&OP reporting packages for management and cross-functional review
Personal Skills & Language Requirements
- Structured, analytical, and independent work style — the ability to manage complex, multi-variable planning situations autonomously and make well-reasoned planning decisions under time pressure in a fast-paced pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
