This role combines technical expertise in variable rate applications, precision equipment, agronomy science, and grower relationship management to deliver consistent, high-quality service across thousands of acres.
You will work directly with growers throughout the growing season providing recommendations, technology support, data collection and analysis, and strategic crop planning that optimizes yields and profitability through precision agriculture approaches.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As Precision Agronomy Specialist in Minnesota, your responsibilities include:
Central Advantage Service Delivery
- Write variable rate seed and fertilizer recommendations based on soil sampling, yield data analysis, and agronomic principles
- Serve as trusted agronomic advisor analyzing correlations to yield helping growers make evidence-based crop decisions
- Help growers create comprehensive annual crop plans incorporating precision agriculture strategies
- Provide precision technology support including updating equipment monitors, loading variable rate prescriptions, and troubleshooting technical issues
- Collect all crop input application data from growers and accurately enter into Central Advantage Program
- Follow strict data entry protocols ensuring accurate results for individual grower reports and group correlations
- Deliver consistent, high-quality grower experience across 30,000-45,000 managed acres
NitrateNow Service Management
- Write variable rate nitrogen recommendations based on soil nitrate testing and crop requirements
- Load nitrogen recommendations into growers’ equipment monitors
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for NitrateNow program implementation
- Optimize nitrogen application timing and rates for maximum efficiency and environmental stewardship
Business Development & Client Relations
- Continually expand Central Advantage and NitrateNow programs through prospecting and farmer outreach
- Build and maintain strong relationships with growers through consistent interaction at all key times of year
- Conduct farm visits, attend grower meetings, and provide ongoing agronomic consultation
- Identify opportunities to add value through precision agriculture services
- Represent CFS professionally in all actions, appearance, and communications
Safety & Professional Standards
- Know and follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Perform work safely while observing traffic laws and OSHA state/federal safety regulations
- Make sound decisions and follow instructions with minimal supervision
- Maintain professional conduct and appearance at all times

Required Qualifications

Educational & Professional Background
- Degree in Agronomy, Crop Sciences, Agricultural Business, Precision Agriculture, or equivalent job experience demonstrating competency in these areas
