Position Overview
Archirodon is seeking a technically proficient Technical Office Engineer for its major Oil & Gas EPC project in Abu Dhabi, UAE — based at the site office and responsible for reviewing and interpreting GA drawings, equipment layouts, P&IDs, vendor drawings, and datasheets; preparing and reviewing technical submittals, method statements, RFIs, and Technical Queries; coordinating across engineering, construction, procurement, QA/QC, vendors, and planning teams; ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, API, ASME, ISO codes, and OEM requirements; monitoring engineering revisions; reviewing MTOs; supporting pre-commissioning and commissioning activities; and maintaining engineering records through disciplined document control. Key Responsibilities
Drawing Review & Technical Documentation
- Review and interpret General Arrangement (GA) drawings, equipment layout drawings, vendor drawings, equipment datasheets, P&IDs, and technical specifications — ensuring all documents are understood and applied correctly across construction activities
- Prepare and rigorously review technical submittals, method statements, material submittals, lifting plans (where applicable), Requests for Information (RFIs), and Technical Queries (TQs) — ensuring timely resolution of all technical issues that affect site progress
- Monitor all engineering revisions continuously and ensure the latest approved drawings, vendor documents, and technical specifications are consistently available to the construction team — preventing out-of-revision document use on site
- Coordinate with Document Control to maintain complete, well-organised engineering records — ensuring proper document revision control, traceability, and retrieval capability for all project technical documentation throughout the EPC project lifecycle
Equipment Installation Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all mechanical equipment installations comply fully with ADNOC engineering standards, project specifications, OEM requirements, and applicable international codes including API, ASME, and ISO throughout project execution in Abu Dhabi
- Review equipment installation procedures, alignment requirements, grouting specifications, torque values, preservation requirements, and commissioning documentation — verifying technical accuracy before works proceed on site
- Apply strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment installation requirements — covering pumps, compressors, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, storage tanks, filters, skids, and packaged equipment across the Oil & Gas EPC project scope
- Participate in constructability reviews — providing practical technical solutions that support safe, efficient, and schedule-compliant mechanical equipment installation across all project work areas
Multi-Discipline Coordination & Technical Problem Solving
- Coordinate proactively with engineering, construction, procurement, QA/QC, planning, and vendor teams — resolving all technical issues related to mechanical equipment installation before they impact construction programme or quality
- Coordinate design changes and engineering solutions collaboratively with project consultants, clients, vendors, and subcontractors — managing the technical change process efficiently within Archirodon’s EPC project control framework
- Review Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and equipment specifications — providing technical support to the procurement team during material and equipment evaluation to ensure all procured items meet project technical requirements
- Attend technical meetings with clients, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors as required — representing the Technical Office function professionally and contributing to technical resolution of project issues at all stakeholder levels
Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning & Handover Support
- Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, and mechanical completion activities — ensuring all mechanical systems are technically ready for systematic commissioning in accordance with project procedures and ADNOC requirements
- Assist in the preparation of as-built documentation, punch list management, mechanical completion dossiers, and formal handover packages — ensuring all technical close-out documentation meets client and authority requirements
- Apply a solid understanding of mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning processes — coordinating across disciplines to ensure seamless transition from installation through to system handover on the Abu Dhabi EPC project
- Maintain excellent communication, coordination, and technical reporting standards throughout all commissioning support activities — providing clear, accurate, and timely technical information to project management and client stakeholders
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline from an accredited university — required for this Technical Office Engineer role on Archirodon’s major Oil & Gas EPC project in Abu Dhabi, UAE
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in mechanical equipment engineering or technical office functions specifically within Oil & Gas EPC projects — this sector-specific experience is a firm requirement for this role
- Minimum 3 years of experience on ADNOC projects or similar GCC Oil & Gas production and processing facilities is strongly preferred — demonstrating familiarity with ADNOC engineering standards, PTW requirements, and project execution protocols
