The Exploration Company, developers of Nyx — a modular, reusable space orbital vehicle designed for cargo delivery and eventual on-orbit refuelling — is seeking a talented Ground Segment Engineer in Dubai for its Lunar Lander Future Projects team. Reporting to the Principal Engineer, this role owns the full ground segment architecture, designs and develops ground segment hardware and software tools, ensures reliability through rigorous testing, and supports test operations and procedures across a once-in-a-generation space mission.

Position Overview
This Ground Segment Engineer role owns the ground segment for the Lunar Lander project, defining its architecture and designing and developing both hardware and software ground segment tools. You will ensure reliability through rigorous automated and manual testing, document ground segment tools, procure all related hardware and means, validate performance, partner with testing and operations teams to understand and meet their needs, and support test procedure definition and test operations throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Ground Segment Ownership & Architecture
- Own the ground segment for the Lunar Lander project end-to-end
- Define the architecture of the ground segment
- Design and develop ground segment hardware and software tools
- Procure all related hardware and means for the ground segment
- Validate ground segment performances against mission requirements
- Document all ground segment tools comprehensively
Testing, Reliability & Operations Support
- Ensure reliability through rigorous automated and manual testing
- Partner with testing and operations teams to understand and meet their needs
- Support test procedure definition and test operations throughout the programme
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in ground segment development for aerospace projects
- Experience with development and testing of user-facing software applications
- Experience with hardware integration and RF systems
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language such as C#, Java, or similar
- Familiarity with aerospace telecommunication standards
- Knowledge of backup systems, storage management, and recovery procedures
- Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, networking, and application layers
- Fluent in English; Arabic is an asset
