GE Vernova’s Grid Automation team is seeking a CCS Project Engineer based in the UAE to own project control activities globally and drive consistent functional specifications and common global processes for project implementation. This role covers the engineering and design of Conventional Control System (CCS) and Busbar Protection (BBP) projects, monitoring and diagnose (M&D) systems, and other Grid Automation (GA) related projects, ensuring customer expectations are met through quality, reliability, and on-time delivery.

Position Overview
This CCS Project Engineer role is responsible for the engineering and design of Conventional Control System (CCS), Busbar Protection (BBP), and monitoring and diagnose (M&D) projects, along with other Grid Automation related projects. You will manage project workloads to maintain a 90%+ billable ratio, liaise with multidisciplinary teams, support Operations in controlling budgeted profitability and planning, and ensure documentation lead times, delivery, reliability, and quality commitments to customers are achieved within budget.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering, Design & Project Control
- Responsible for engineering and design of CCS, BBP, M&D, and other Grid Automation related projects
- Manage project workload to ensure 90% and above billable ratio
- Liaise with other members of a multidisciplinary team
- Support Operations in controlling projects for budgeted profitability, planning, and reporting
Customer Commitments & Compliance
- Ensure documentation lead times, delivery, reliability, and quality agreements are achieved within budget
- Follow workplace EHS issues and ensure availability of suitable PPE for T&C personnel
- Manage and secure approval and renewal of engineering approvals from key accounts
- Ensure commitments to customers are met through consistent communication and periodic reviews
- Implement ServiceMax during project execution
Technical Engineering & Documentation
- Handle engineering and field service work for protection relays, panels, protection logic diagrams, GA/LA, Bill of Materials, and purchasing requests
- Support production documents including wiring tables, label lists, cable schedules, and interpanel wiring files
- Perform CT/VT adequacy checks and relay setting calculations
- Apply busbar protection engineering knowledge to site works
- Revise drawings against comments and respond to customer/consultant feedback
Stakeholder Coordination & Team Support
- Provide technical clarification to suppliers and customers
- Coordinate with panel manufacturers
- Represent GE before customers and consultants in technical discussions and workshops
- Secure design documents of required quality and timing from outsourcing partners
- Assist and guide a small team of draftsmen in their daily design activities
- Handle testing, panel integration, and internal validation at the GEV facility
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related field
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in protection, CCS, and M&D systems such as MiCOM, UR family relays, DGA900, MS3000
- Minimum 3 years of experience in high voltage substation engineering and field activities
Essential Skills
- Strong knowledge of protection main relays and busbar philosophy
- Strong knowledge of Conventional Control System (CCS), DCS, and cyber security system design
- Ability to understand and implement technical drawings (wiring diagrams, P&ID, General Arrangement)
- Strong communication skills in English
