Position Overview

This Head of Supply Chain Management position at Hevert Pharmaceuticals is one of the most senior and strategically impactful leadership roles available in Germany’s natural and homeopathic pharmaceutical sector. You will take full ownership of the SCM function — spanning Production & Manufacturing, Sales Logistics, Purchasing, and Logistics — with complete responsibility for results, budget, compliance, and organisational development. Working in close collaboration with the management team, you will contribute actively to company strategy, develop and empower your department heads, drive just-in-time supply concepts, optimise working capital performance, ensure GMP and GDP regulatory compliance, and lead the integration of AI-supported tools that modernise supply chain planning and decision-making across the entire value chain. This is a career-defining leadership opportunity for an experienced pharmaceutical supply chain professional ready to operate at board-adjacent level.

Why This Role Matters: As Head of Supply Chain Management at Hevert Pharmaceuticals, your decisions directly determine whether 100+ natural medicine products reach patients across Germany, Europe, South America, and Asia — on time, in full, and in full regulatory compliance. Your leadership builds the supply chain capability that protects product availability, manages working capital intelligently, ensures GMP adherence, and positions Hevert’s operations for the next generation of AI-driven pharmaceutical supply chain excellence. In a family-owned company where every person and every decision counts, this role genuinely shapes the future of a beloved natural medicine brand.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic SCM Leadership & Governance

  • Bear full overall responsibility for the Supply Chain Management area — including the departments of Production & Manufacturing, Sales Logistics, Purchasing, and Logistics — across Hevert Pharmaceuticals.
  • Take an active role in the senior leadership team — collaborating closely with management in the development, coordination, and implementation of Hevert’s broader company strategy.
  • Ensure full compliance with corporate governance, occupational safety requirements, sustainability commitments, and regulatory obligations across all SCM functions.
  • Provide transparent, accurate, and timely reporting on SCM performance to senior management — giving leadership the visibility needed for informed strategic decision-making.

People Leadership & Organisational Development

  • Lead, develop, and empower the SCM departmental organisation — developing department heads through clear accountability frameworks, results-oriented objective setting, and a performance- and value-driven leadership culture.
  • Establish and sustain a high-performing, collaborative SCM team culture — where clarity of purpose, mutual respect, and continuous development are lived values across all departments.
  • Manage and develop direct reports including department heads — applying a clear, communicative, and appreciative leadership style that brings out the best in experienced pharmaceutical professionals.
  • Support succession planning, talent identification, and skills development across the SCM organisation to ensure Hevert’s supply chain leadership capability grows in line with business ambition.

Working Capital Management & Financial Performance

  • Take full responsibility for working capital management within the SCM area — with particular focus on demand-driven forecasting, inventory control, cash flow management, and continuous optimisation of liquidity-relevant key figures.
  • Manage the SCM budget with commercial discipline — controlling costs effectively, forecasting accurately, and identifying opportunities to enhance financial performance across the supply chain function.
  • Monitor and optimise inventory levels, stock turns, and working capital tied up in the supply chain — balancing product availability requirements with Hevert’s liquidity and financial performance objectives.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial reporting on SCM performance — providing management with clear, actionable insights into cost, inventory, cash flow, and supply chain efficiency metrics.

Process Optimisation & Just-in-Time Supply

  • Drive continuous optimisation of processes, organisation, and infrastructure across all SCM departments — with the aim of further developing just-in-time supply concepts within Hevert’s regulated pharmaceutical environment.
  • Ensure demand-driven stock management practices — maintaining optimal inventory levels that guarantee on-time, accurate supply of all Hevert products to domestic and international markets.
  • Identify and implement supply chain efficiency improvements that reduce cycle times, eliminate waste, and enhance the overall agility and resilience of Hevert’s supply chain operations.
  • Apply structured process improvement methodologies to evaluate and redesign supply chain workflows — delivering measurable improvements in cost, speed, accuracy, and regulatory compliance performance.

AI Integration & Digital Supply Chain Innovation

  • Identify, evaluate, and leverage the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in supply chain management — particularly for optimising planning, control, and decision-making processes along Hevert’s value chain.
  • Lead the practical application of AI-supported tools for demand forecasting, inventory optimisation, supply risk identification, and supply chain performance analytics within the pharmaceutical environment.
  • Build and maintain a strong digital affinity across the SCM function — championing the adoption of new technologies and data-driven approaches that strengthen Hevert’s competitive supply chain position.
  • Ensure confident and holistic use of SAP and other ERP systems across the SCM organisation — leveraging system data and functionality to drive informed decisions and process excellence throughout the supply chain.

Regulatory Compliance & Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure full and consistent compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements — in particular strict adherence to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and GDP (Good Distribution Practice) guidelines across all SCM operations.
  • Represent the SCM department internally and externally — actively managing relevant stakeholders including suppliers, service providers, customers, and regulatory authorities in Germany and internationally.
  • Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with key supply chain partners — ensuring that external supplier and logistics provider performance consistently meets Hevert’s quality, regulatory, and delivery standards.
  • Communicate confidently and professionally with internal and external stakeholders — applying excellent German and English language skills to build trust and drive alignment across all SCM interfaces.

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Completed technical or commercial university degree — or a comparable qualification — providing a solid foundation for senior supply chain leadership in the regulated pharmaceutical sector.
  • Several years of professional experience in pharmaceutical supply chain management — demonstrating progressive leadership responsibility and deep industry knowledge in a regulated environment.

Technical & Industry Knowledge

  • Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality requirements — ideally with hands-on practical experience in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical production or operations environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of GDP and GMP regulations — combined with a thorough and practical understanding of the regulatory frameworks applicable to pharmaceutical supply chains in Germany and internationally.
  • Confident, holistic handling of ERP systems — especially SAP — for controlling processes, structures, and data flows across all areas of the supply chain from procurement through to customer delivery.
  • Experience with AI-supported applications or a strong affinity for new digital technologies — with a clear view to their meaningful application in supply chain planning, forecasting, and process optimisation.

Leadership & Essential Skills

  • Proven experience managing employees — preferably including senior managers — with a clear, communicative, and appreciative leadership style that drives performance and develops people simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills — with a confident, credible personal presence when engaging internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority.
  • Experience in working capital management within complex supply chain structures — particularly in forecasting, inventory control, cash flow management, and liquidity optimisation in a regulated pharmaceutical context.
  • Excellent German and English language skills — written and spoken — at a professional business level required for effective leadership, reporting, and stakeholder communication across Hevert’s domestic and international operations.
