Position Overview
The Specialist Logistics role at BorgWarner Darmstadt is a dynamic, full-time warehouse and supply chain operations position within one of Germany’s most innovative automotive technology companies. You will manage incoming goods inspections, record all goods movements in the merchandise management system, coordinate shipping processes, handle customs documentation, conduct ADR dangerous goods checks, and ensure smooth material flow through the KANBAN system in the production area. With responsibility spanning from truck loading and unloading through to inventory management and packaging compliance, this is a well-rounded logistics role for a reliable, detail-oriented professional who takes pride in keeping operations running safely and efficiently every single shift.

Key Responsibilities
Incoming Goods & Goods Movements
- Perform thorough incoming goods inspections including physical checks — counting, weighing, and verification of delivered goods against delivery notes
- Record all goods movements accurately in the merchandise management system and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve discrepancies promptly
- Execute inbound, outbound, and relocated goods operations in line with internal processes and quality standards
Shipping Coordination & Documentation
- Check and record goods issues and prioritize packaging measures based on current delivery schedules and customer order requirements
- Coordinate shipping processes in close cooperation with production planning, quality assurance, order picking, and packaging teams
- Schedule appointments with customers for goods collections within agreed and specified timeframes
- Prepare all required accompanying documents — including delivery notes, customs invoices, and dangerous goods documentation — with full accuracy
Customs & Dangerous Goods Compliance
- Coordinate with the customs department and apply for all necessary customs documents required for international shipments
- Conduct ADR and dangerous goods checks using predefined compliance checklists in line with regulatory requirements
- Ensure all hazardous materials are handled, stored, and shipped in full compliance with ADR regulations and internal safety guidelines
Inventory Management & Production Supply
- Continuously monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment activities with production, purchasing, and external warehouse partners
- Execute material supply in the production area according to the KANBAN system, ensuring production lines are never starved of required components
- Carry out order picking, process inventory inquiries, and support the team during scheduled and unscheduled inventory counts
Warehouse Operations & Physical Handling
- Load and unload trucks safely in full compliance with internal guidelines, loading schemes, and health and safety requirements
- Package goods according to specified regulations and customer requirements, maintaining quality and protection standards throughout
- Manage empty container handling and ensure professional disposal in accordance with applicable recycling and environmental guidelines
Profile & Requirements
- Qualification: Completed vocational training in logistics — such as warehouse specialist, warehouse logistics specialist, or a comparable qualification (required)
- Experience: Prior professional experience in warehousing, shipping, or logistics operations is strongly desirable
- Systems: Practical experience in using inventory management or merchandise management systems
- Forklift License: Valid forklift operator license is mandatory for this position
- Crane License: Crane operator’s license is an additional advantage and will strengthen your application
- ADR Training: Successful completion of basic ADR dangerous goods training is highly desirable
- Work Ethic: Careful, structured, and reliable approach to all tasks with strong attention to detail
