Position Overview
As Leiter/in Supply Chain Planning (Head of Supply Chain Planning) at SCHOTT’s Landshut location, you will hold full responsibility for end-to-end planning across Demand, Supply, and Production — including oversight of the S&OP process, efficient production and material planning, scheduling and capacity control in SAP MM/PP, and management of critical supply situations through integrated scenario and escalation management. Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Supply Chain Planning Development
- Lead, mentor, and actively develop the supply chain planning team at the Landshut location — building a high-performing, analytically skilled, and strategically aligned planning function that supports SCHOTT’s operational and business growth ambitions
- Create a team culture of continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and proactive supply chain management — empowering planning professionals to take ownership of their areas with confidence and capability

End-to-End Planning & S&OP Management
- Hold full responsibility for end-to-end planning across Demand Planning, Supply Planning, and Production Planning at the Landshut facility — ensuring a coherent, integrated planning approach that aligns customer demand with production capacity
- Own and lead the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process — facilitating monthly planning cycles, coordinating cross-functional consensus-building, and driving executive-level decisions that balance demand, supply, and financial targets
- Ensure efficient, reliable production and material planning — including detailed scheduling, capacity control, and material requirements planning executed accurately within SAP MM/PP to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations
- Manage critical supply situations with professionalism and urgency — developing and executing integrated scenario planning and escalation management responses that protect customer commitments even under complex supply constraints
SAP, BI & Data-Driven Planning Excellence
- Drive data-driven planning control and continuous improvement through expert use of SAP MM/PP — leveraging the full functionality of the system to optimise material flow, production scheduling, and inventory management at Landshut
- Utilise BI and analytics tools to develop meaningful planning KPIs, performance dashboards, and trend analyses — providing management with clear, actionable supply chain visibility and early warning of emerging risks or opportunities
- Identify and implement SAP and BI capability enhancements that improve planning accuracy, increase process efficiency, and reduce manual effort across the supply chain planning team’s daily operations
- Champion a data-first mindset across the planning team — embedding analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and evidence-based decision-making as core competencies within the Landshut supply chain planning function
Digitalization, LEAN & Strategic Improvement Initiatives
- Lead strategic digitalization initiatives within the supply chain planning function — identifying opportunities to leverage automation, advanced analytics, and digital tools to transform planning processes and enhance operational resilience
- Drive end-to-end process optimization projects using LEAN methods — reducing waste, streamlining planning workflows, eliminating process inefficiencies, and building a leaner, more agile supply chain planning operation at Landshut
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary, international teams across SCHOTT’s global operations — aligning planning improvement initiatives with broader corporate strategy and ensuring consistent best practices across locations

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Technical or economics degree with a clear focus on supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, or a comparable qualification from an accredited German or international university or technical institution
- Additional professional certifications in supply chain management — such as APICS CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent — are considered a strong and valued advantage for this senior leadership role at SCHOTT
Experience Requirements
- Several years of progressive professional experience in supply chain planning, production planning, or operational purchasing within an industrial manufacturing environment — with clear evidence of increasing responsibility and leadership scope
- Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end process optimization projects — ideally applying LEAN methodologies, value stream mapping, or similar structured improvement approaches in a German or European manufacturing context
- Prior experience managing S&OP processes and cross-functional planning cycles in a complex, multi-product industrial manufacturing environment is strongly preferred for this Landshut leadership role
