Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management — Primary Point of Contact
- Serve as the main point of contact for inventory for all CT Service Operations employees — being the go-to subject matter expert that field technicians, depot managers, service coordinators, and management rely on for accurate inventory information, guidance on inventory processes, and resolution of inventory-related questions and issues
- Apply deep subject matter expertise in logistics best practices for inventory control — bringing structured, process-oriented thinking to daily inventory investigations, exception analysis, root cause identification, and problem-solving across the service parts logistics network
- Monitor exception reports systematically and take prompt positive action on new exception activity — ensuring that inventory discrepancies, excess stock positions, aged inventory, and other exception conditions are identified and addressed quickly before they impact service operations or inventory cost performance
- Support “clean up” cadences to actively manage and minimise inventory positions — identifying opportunities to reduce excess and redundant stock, coordinating disposition actions, and contributing to the sustained reduction of overall inventory levels without compromising the service parts availability that CT Service Operations requires
Annual Physical Inventories & Reconciliation
- Manage the annual physical inventory cadence for all CTS depots and service vans — developing the count schedule, coordinating resources and logistics, communicating requirements to depot and van teams, and ensuring that physical counts are completed accurately and on time in accordance with the approved inventory count procedure
- Perform inventory reconciliation activities during physical inventories and stock takes — comparing physical count results against SAP system records, identifying and investigating count discrepancies, determining the correct resolution for each variance, and processing all adjustments through the approved correction workflow
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies identified during reconciliation — conducting structured root cause analysis to understand why variances arose, documenting findings accurately, and implementing process or system corrections that prevent similar discrepancies from recurring in future inventory cycles
- Provide comprehensive reporting on physical inventory results and reconciliation outcomes — summarising key findings, variance analysis, and improvement recommendations for the CTS Supply Chain Operations Manager and relevant leadership stakeholders
SAP & SharePoint Transaction Management
- Execute all necessary SAP transactions to ensure accurate inventory recording — including goods receipts, goods issues, transfer orders, stock transfers, inventory adjustments, return merchandise processing, and all other SAP inventory and logistics transactions required to maintain accurate, real-time inventory data across the CTS service network
- Make all required SharePoint transactions and process flows — maintaining accurate documentation of logistics activities, inventory actions, RMA requests, shipment records, and other process steps that require SharePoint documentation in accordance with CTS logistics procedures
- Maintain and monitor strategic stock initiatives in SAP — managing the creation and tracking of new strategic stock tickets, identifying and managing obsolescence risks within the strategic stock portfolio, and ensuring that strategic inventory decisions are accurately reflected in SAP at all times
- Manage depot and van inventory replenishment in SAP — processing replenishment transactions accurately and in accordance with approved replenishment strategies, ensuring that depot and van stock levels are maintained within approved parameters that support field service operations without creating unnecessary excess inventory
RMA Coordination & Vendor Returns
- Work with all external vendors to receive RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) approvals — initiating RMA requests, following vendor-specific return processes accurately, and ensuring that all required documentation and approvals are in place before initiating any field material return
- Support the CTS RMA Logistics Specialist as needed — providing backup capability, coverage, and additional capacity for RMA processing during peak periods, specialist absence, or periods of elevated return activity across the CTS service network
- Correctly return materials from the field and process all returns in SAP — ensuring that returned materials are correctly received, inspected, classified by condition, and processed through the appropriate SAP return and credit workflow in accordance with Atlas Copco’s vendor return procedures
- Monitor and report on RMA pipeline status — tracking open RMA requests from initiation through vendor approval, physical return, and final credit resolution, and escalating delays or issues to the appropriate vendor contact or internal management
LTL Shipments, Freight Management & Reporting
- Create Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) shipments and manage the complete bill of lading process from pickup scheduling through delivery confirmation — ensuring all freight documentation is accurate and compliant with carrier requirements, and that shipments depart and arrive on schedule
- Coordinate with freight carriers, brokers, and logistics partners to ensure efficient, cost-effective movement of service parts and materials between depots, distribution centres, and vendor locations across the United States
- Provide regular reporting on all responsible logistics activities, processes, and performance programmes — compiling accurate operational data into clear, well-structured management reports on cadence and as required by the CTS Supply Chain Operations Manager or broader leadership team
- Support process improvement projects to streamline SAP transactions, logistics processes, technology workflows, and data flows — applying continuous improvement thinking to identify inefficiencies and contributing to the implementation of solutions that reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and enhance the overall efficiency of CTS logistics operations
Qualifications & What You Bring
Education
- Minimum 2-year Associate’s Degree in a quantitative discipline — logistics, supply chain, business administration, operations management, or a related field; this is the minimum educational requirement for this Logistics Specialist position
