Key Responsibilities
Production Operations Management
- Manage all daily production operations at the Sa’ad facility to ensure consistent achievement of production targets within approved quality standards, environmental compliance requirements, and allocated budget
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate production activity to optimize throughput, minimize downtime, and maintain on-time delivery of finished products across Almarai’s distribution network
- Monitor real-time production performance data — identifying deviations from targets and implementing immediate corrective actions to protect output volumes and product quality
- Lead production shift teams to deliver consistent, high-quality output that meets Almarai’s world-class FMCG standards and the demands of the MENA market
Red Meat Manufacturing & Quality Standards
- Apply specialist red meat industry expertise to manage all aspects of meat processing and production at the Sa’ad facility — from raw material receipt through to finished product dispatch
- Enforce Almarai’s quality management standards across all red meat production processes — ensuring every product leaving the facility meets the company’s “Quality you can trust” principle
- Monitor product quality parameters including temperature management, hygiene standards, specification compliance, yield performance, and packaging integrity throughout the production process
- Investigate and resolve quality deviations, production non-conformances, and customer feedback issues — implementing root cause analysis and preventive corrective actions
HACCP, ISO & Food Safety Compliance
- Implement and maintain full HACCP food safety management system compliance across all production operations — applying certified HACCP knowledge to identify, monitor, and control all critical control points
- Ensure ISO food safety management standards are rigorously applied and maintained across the Sa’ad production facility in line with Almarai’s global quality management framework
- Conduct and lead internal food safety and quality system audits — applying Internal Auditor certification to evaluate compliance, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement
- Prepare the facility for external regulatory audits, third-party certifications, and Almarai corporate quality assurance assessments — maintaining audit-ready standards at all times
Internal Auditing & Compliance Governance
- Lead regular internal audits of production processes, quality systems, environmental compliance, and health and safety protocols — documenting findings and driving corrective action implementation
- Maintain comprehensive audit records, non-conformance reports, and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) documentation in accordance with ISO and HACCP certification requirements
- Liaise with Almarai’s quality assurance and compliance teams to ensure the Sa’ad facility remains fully aligned with corporate standards and regulatory requirements across KSA and GCC
- Train production staff on quality management systems, HACCP principles, food safety best practices, and internal audit protocols to build a culture of quality ownership on the production floor
Budget Management & Cost Control
- Manage the production department budget at the Sa’ad facility — monitoring costs against targets and implementing efficiency improvements to control labor, material, and overhead expenditure
- Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities across production operations without compromising product quality or food safety compliance standards
- Track and report key production financial KPIs including yield rates, waste levels, labor efficiency, and cost per unit to senior management on a regular basis
- Develop and propose capital investment requirements for equipment, technology upgrades, or facility improvements that will support sustainable production growth at the Sa’ad facility
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, motivate, and develop the production team at Sa’ad — building a high-performance culture aligned with Almarai’s values of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Manage recruitment, performance evaluation, training needs assessment, and succession planning for the production team to ensure sustained operational capability
- Foster a workplace safety culture — ensuring all production staff follow health, safety, and environmental protocols and that the facility maintains full compliance with KSA labor and safety regulations
- Communicate production performance, challenges, and improvement initiatives clearly to senior management — providing regular structured reporting on all key operational metrics
Requirements & Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Processing Technology, Food Science, Food Engineering, or a closely related technical field from a recognized university
- Equivalent combination of relevant technical degree and extensive senior production management experience in food manufacturing or FMCG operations considered
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of direct, hands-on experience as a Production Manager specifically within the red meat industry — this is a mandatory and non-negotiable requirement
- Minimum 5+ years of active experience conducting internal audits within a food manufacturing, FMCG, or regulated production environment
- Proven track record of managing production operations to target within quality, budget, and environmental compliance parameters in a large-scale food manufacturing or FMCG setting
- Experience working in a remote production facility environment — ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision in a self-directed operational leadership role
Certifications
- Internal Auditor certification — active and recognized certification in food safety or quality management systems internal auditing
- HACCP certification — certified HACCP practitioner with demonstrated practical application of HACCP principles in a food manufacturing production environment
