Position Overview
This Quality Controller role at Chayah Co in Kuwait is a hands-on, impact-driven position for a quality professional who thrives in a production environment and is genuinely passionate about maintaining the highest food and beverage standards. Your daily responsibilities will span product inspection, process testing, quality record maintenance, and production monitoring — with a consistent focus on identifying deviations, implementing corrective actions, and preventing quality failures before they reach the consumer. Key Responsibilities
Product Inspection & Quality Testing
- Inspect products and production processes systematically — verifying compliance with Chayah Co’s internal quality standards, product specifications, and applicable external regulatory requirements.
- Perform structured tests and measurements on products at key production checkpoints — ensuring all quality parameters including dimensions, appearance, taste, texture, and microbiological safety are within defined acceptance criteria.
- Identify defects, deviations, non-conformances, and quality failures during production — documenting findings clearly and reporting them promptly to the relevant operational and management teams.
- Conduct finished product quality checks and pre-release inspections — ensuring only products that fully meet Chayah Co’s quality standards are approved for dispatch and distribution.
Production Monitoring & CAPA Implementation
- Monitor production activities daily — providing real-time quality oversight across the manufacturing process to detect and address quality issues as they arise on the production floor.
- Work closely with operational teams to investigate the root causes of identified quality deviations, defects, and process failures — applying structured problem-solving approaches to identify underlying issues.
- Implement and follow up on Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) — ensuring all agreed corrective measures are completed on time and verified as effective before closure.
- Monitor the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions over time — escalating persistent quality issues and recommending additional improvement measures where required.
Quality Records, Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date quality records — ensuring all inspection results, test data, non-conformance reports, and CAPA records are documented correctly and stored in compliance with quality management system requirements.
- Prepare structured, clear quality performance reports for management review — summarising inspection findings, defect trends, CAPA status, and key quality KPI performance on a regular basis.
- Support the development, review, and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) — ensuring all quality procedures reflect current best practices, regulatory requirements, and production realities.
- Assist in maintaining the company’s quality management system documentation — contributing to document control processes and ensuring all quality records are complete, accessible, and audit-ready.
Audit Support & Regulatory Compliance
- Actively support internal quality audits — preparing documentation, participating in audit activities, and assisting with the preparation and follow-up of corrective action plans identified during audits.
- Assist with external regulatory inspections and third-party audits — ensuring all required quality documentation is accurate, complete, and available for review on demand.
- Monitor compliance with relevant industry standards, food safety regulations, and Kuwaiti regulatory requirements applicable to Chayah Co’s food and beverage production operations.
- Ensure that quality compliance is maintained consistently across all production activities — communicating any compliance risks or gaps to management in a timely and professional manner.
Training, Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Deliver or support quality training for operational and production team members — covering quality procedures, work instructions, food safety requirements, and best practices in a clear and engaging manner.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, operations, procurement, and management teams — sharing quality insights, supporting problem-solving discussions, and contributing to a shared culture of quality ownership.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives — identifying opportunities to enhance quality processes, reduce defect rates, and improve efficiency across the production quality function.
- Participate in quality review meetings and cross-functional project teams — representing the quality function with professionalism, data-driven insights, and a constructive, solution-focused approach.
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Food Science, Food Technology, or a closely related technical discipline — a firm requirement for this Quality Controller position.
- Alternatively, a diploma in a related field combined with strong, demonstrable practical quality control experience in a food and beverage manufacturing environment will be considered.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of practical Food and Beverage Manufacturing experience in a production or quality-focused environment — a non-negotiable requirement for this role.
- Minimum 3 years of dedicated Quality Assurance experience — including product inspection, process testing, CAPA implementation, quality documentation, and audit support activities.
- Previous hands-on experience in a quality-focused role within manufacturing, production, or a similar operational environment is strongly preferred and expected.
Essential Skills
- Strong practical skills in Quality Control and Quality Assurance — able to inspect, test, and verify products and processes against defined specifications and acceptance standards with confidence.
- Experience implementing quality management procedures, monitoring quality KPIs, and contributing actively to continuous improvement activities within a production environment.
- Ability to support auditing activities — including preparing documentation, participating in internal quality audits, and assisting with the follow-up and verification of corrective action plans.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical mindset — applying precision and critical thinking to quality data interpretation, defect investigation, and improvement recommendation.
