Key Responsibilities
QHSE Management System Compliance
- Ensure full, continuous compliance of Almarai’s Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental, and Food Safety management systems across the regional Hail farming operation — applying the latest QHSE management techniques and technology in line with world-class international standards
- Implement, monitor, and maintain all four ISO management system pillars across the regional farming site — QMS (ISO 9001), FSMS (ISO 22000 / HACCP), EMS (ISO 14001), and OHSMS (ISO 45001) — ensuring ongoing certification compliance and audit readiness
- Develop and implement QHSE procedures, work instructions, and operational controls that embed quality, safety, environmental, and food safety standards into every daily activity across the regional farming operation
- Monitor the effectiveness of QHSE management systems — tracking key performance indicators, analysing compliance data, and reporting QHSE performance to regional management with clear, evidence-based findings and improvement recommendations
Internal Auditing & Regulatory Compliance
- Plan, prepare, and conduct structured internal audits across quality, food safety, environmental, and occupational health and safety management systems — evaluating compliance against ISO standards, Almarai procedures, and applicable Saudi Arabian regulatory requirements
- Document audit findings accurately and comprehensively — preparing detailed audit reports that clearly identify non-conformances, root causes, and recommended corrective and preventive actions for management review and implementation
- Follow up on all audit findings and corrective actions — verifying that remediation measures are implemented within agreed timeframes and that their effectiveness is confirmed through evidence-based follow-up assessments
- Support external certification audits, regulatory inspections, and third-party QHSE assessments — ensuring the regional farming operation is fully prepared and capable of demonstrating full system compliance at any time
Food Safety System Management
- Manage and maintain the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) across the Hail regional farming operation — ensuring all food safety programs, HACCP plans, prerequisite programmes (PRPs), and critical control point monitoring activities are implemented and functioning effectively
- Monitor food safety compliance at every stage of the farming operation — from raw material handling, animal welfare practices, and primary processing through storage, packaging, and dispatch — identifying and resolving food safety risks before they reach the supply chain
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready food safety documentation — including HACCP records, CCP monitoring logs, corrective action records, and traceability documentation — ensuring full compliance with Almarai’s food safety standards and Saudi regulatory requirements
- Investigate food safety incidents, customer complaints, and quality non-conformances — leading root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions that prevent recurrence and continuously improve food safety performance
Health, Safety & Environmental Management
- Implement and maintain Almarai’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) across the regional site — ensuring all workplace safety procedures, risk assessments, emergency response plans, and safety training programmes are current and effectively applied
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections, hazard identification assessments, and environmental compliance checks across the Hail farming operation — identifying risks and implementing controls that protect employees, contractors, visitors, and the surrounding environment
- Coordinate incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and corrective action implementation for all health, safety, and environmental events — maintaining accurate records and analysing trends to drive continuous improvement in QHSE performance
- Support the implementation of environmental management programmes — monitoring environmental compliance, managing waste, water, and energy usage data, and supporting Almarai’s sustainability and environmental responsibility commitments
Training, Awareness & QHSE Culture
- Develop and deliver QHSE awareness training and toolbox talks for farming site employees — building a strong, proactive QHSE culture where quality, food safety, health, safety, and environmental responsibility are understood and actively practised at every level of the operation
- Support the induction and ongoing QHSE training of new employees, contractors, and seasonal workers — ensuring everyone working on the Almarai farming site is fully briefed on applicable QHSE procedures, hazards, and compliance requirements
- Champion QHSE best practices across the regional operation — acting as the go-to subject matter expert for quality, food safety, health and safety, and environmental compliance queries from site management and operational teams
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Food Science, Science, or a closely related technical field from a recognised and accredited university — this educational foundation is a mandatory requirement for this QHSE Coordinator role at Almarai
- Diploma in Quality Management or equivalent professional qualification in quality assurance, food safety, or QHSE management systems
- Formal qualification or training on ISO management systems — covering QMS (ISO 9001), FSMS (ISO 22000), EMS (ISO 14001), and OHSMS (ISO 45001) — demonstrating systematic knowledge of the standards this role is responsible for maintaining
- Qualification as an Internal Auditor for ISO management systems — an accredited internal auditor certification is a requirement for this role given its audit leadership responsibilities
