Position Overview
The Supply Chain Planner at Recipharm in Wasserburg am Inn is a multi-disciplinary planning role covering three core pillars: S&OP/demand planning, production planning, and material planning within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You will independently execute demand planning for assigned products and customers, create and monitor production plans using SAP, ensure end-to-end material availability, manage supply risks and bottlenecks, and participate actively in the S&OP process. Working closely with purchasing, warehousing, production, and quality management, you will contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes while maintaining full compliance with GMP requirements — making this one of the most technically comprehensive and professionally rewarding supply chain planning roles available in Bavaria’s pharmaceutical sector in 2026.
Why This Role Matters: As Supply Chain Planner at Recipharm Wasserburg, your plans and decisions directly determine whether life-saving pharmaceutical products reach patients on time and in full. You will execute demand forecasts that align production with real market needs for your product and customer portfolio, create production plans that optimise capacity utilisation while meeting GMP compliance requirements at every step, ensure material availability never becomes the reason a production batch is delayed, manage escalations with calm precision when bottlenecks arise, and contribute to continuous planning process improvements that make Recipharm’s supply chain smarter, faster, and more resilient year on year.
Key Responsibilities
S&OP & Demand Planning
- Independently execute demand planning for defined products and customers — analysing historical data, market signals, and customer forecasts to produce reliable forward-looking demand plans
- Analyse forecasts and coordinate changes in demand with internal and external stakeholders — ensuring all relevant departments are aligned on demand changes before they impact production
- Participate actively in the S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) process — preparing relevant key performance figures and supporting structured monthly planning cycle execution
- Maintain demand planning accuracy metrics and proactively identify forecast deviations — initiating corrective measures to keep supply aligned with actual customer needs
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Create, schedule, and continuously monitor production plans for assigned products — taking into account available capacities, material availability, and customer delivery requirements
- Prioritise production orders and actively manage bottlenecks and escalation situations — communicating status and proposed solutions clearly to production, quality, and management stakeholders
- Ensure economical utilisation of production resources — balancing efficiency, flexibility, and GMP compliance in all scheduling decisions
- Maintain production plans in SAP — keeping scheduling data accurate, current, and audit-ready in full compliance with pharmaceutical GMP documentation requirements
Material Planning & Supply Risk Management
- Ensure end-to-end material availability throughout the entire production process — monitoring SAP for stock levels, material requirements, and supplier delivery dates in real time
- Identify and manage supply risks proactively — initiating and following up on appropriate countermeasures before material shortages disrupt production schedules
- Collaborate closely with purchasing, warehousing, production, and quality management teams — ensuring material management decisions are coordinated across all relevant functions
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment actions in line with safety stock targets and production requirements — minimising both excess inventory and stockout risk
GMP Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Participate actively in the continuous improvement of planning and scheduling processes — while maintaining strict adherence to GMP requirements applicable to pharmaceutical supply chain operations
- Support internal GMP audits and inspections by maintaining accurate, complete, and audit-ready planning documentation in SAP and associated systems
- Contribute constructively to cross-functional improvement projects — bringing supply chain planning expertise to initiatives that enhance production efficiency, material reliability, and customer service levels
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Completed commercial or technical vocational training (Berufsausbildung) with further qualification in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a comparable relevant field
- A degree (Bachelor’s or higher) in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Pharmacy/Life Sciences is a meaningful additional advantage
Experience Requirement
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in production planning, material planning, or supply chain management — ideally within a pharmaceutical, medical device, or GMP-regulated manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience using SAP for production planning, materials management (MM), and demand forecasting in a manufacturing operations context
- Experience participating in or supporting S&OP processes and demand planning cycles in a production environment is strongly preferred
Technical Skills
- Solid, practical knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and materials management — applied in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Confident and proficient use of SAP for planning, inventory monitoring, and production order management — daily use at functional level
- Advanced MS Excel skills — for data analysis, planning calculations, and KPI reporting in supply chain management
- GMP knowledge and awareness of how GMP requirements apply to supply chain planning documentation and process compliance in a pharmaceutical manufacturing setting
Personal Competencies & Language Requirements
- Structured, analytical, and independent working style — able to manage multiple planning tasks simultaneously without losing accuracy or thoroughness
- Strong communication skills — able to engage clearly and professionally with stakeholders across purchasing, production, quality, and management both in German and English
- Reliable escalation management — able to identify critical supply situations early, communicate urgently and clearly, and drive issues to resolution under time pressure
- Fluent German and English — both written and spoken at minimum B2 level — required for daily planning communication across Recipharm’s international operations
