Position Overview
This Supply Chain Assistant role at Dawn Foods in Darmstadt is a dynamic, cross-functional position at the center of the company’s European logistics network. You will coordinate national and international shipments, process complaints and returns via SAP, prepare export and Intrastat declarations, check and process logistics provider invoices, organize collection orders, issue long-term supplier declarations, and prepare regular operational reports. Working closely with external logistics providers, internal teams, and European Dawn Foods companies, you will play a hands-on role in ensuring customers receive optimal, reliable service every day.

Key Responsibilities
Transport Coordination & Logistics Management
- Coordinate national and international transports in close cooperation with external logistics service providers
- Serve as the central contact person for all logistical questions — both internal teams and external partners
- Organize collection orders efficiently and issue long-term supplier declarations as required
- Ensure customers across European markets receive optimal, timely, and reliable logistics service
SAP Operations & Invoice Processing
- Process complaints and returns accurately, clarify issues within SAP, and initiate improvement measures as needed
- Check, verify, and process invoices received from logistics service providers with high accuracy
- Maintain clean and up-to-date records across all supply chain transactions within the SAP system
- Regularly create operational reports including the monthly scrap report and performance summaries
Customs, Export & Compliance
- Prepare export declarations and serve as the primary contact for all customs-related matters
- Manage Intrastat declarations accurately and on schedule in compliance with European regulatory requirements
- Ensure all international transport documentation meets German and EU customs compliance standards
- Support continuous process improvement across customs and export operations for greater efficiency
International Projects & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work on international supply chain improvement projects across Dawn Foods’ European company network
- Collaborate actively with internal departments and European Dawn Foods entities for seamless operations
- Bring a service-oriented mindset and structured working approach to all cross-departmental interactions
- Maintain a clear operational overview even under pressure, prioritizing customer focus and delivery quality
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Completed commercial apprenticeship or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
- Additional qualifications in international trade, customs, or freight forwarding are a distinct advantage
Experience Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience in supply chain or logistics — ideally within the food industry
- Practical working knowledge of SAP logistics modules and familiarity with ERP system operations
Essential Skills
- Excellent German and English language skills — both spoken and written — required for all applicants
- Proficient use of MS Office tools including Excel, Word, and Outlook for daily operational tasks
- Strong communication skills, outstanding organizational talent, and a pronounced customer-first focus
