Position Overview
The Divisional Quality Assurance Manager at Almarai’s Protein Business Unit plays a pivotal senior leadership role in driving business performance through rigorous compliance with Poultry Quality Management Systems. You will oversee all divisional quality objectives, lead a team of quality professionals, manage critical food safety frameworks including ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001, and ensure every product leaving Almarai’s facilities meets the highest standards of food safety, regulatory compliance, and consumer quality expectations. Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System Leadership & Compliance
- Drive full compliance with Poultry Quality Management Systems across all divisional operations, ensuring every process, product, and procedure meets Almarai’s highest quality benchmarks
- Lead the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, AIBI, and FSSC 22000 frameworks across the Protein Business Unit
- Ensure complete adherence to all applicable food safety regulations and food law requirements relevant to the GCC and international markets served by Almarai
Divisional Quality Objectives & Performance Management
- Achieve and exceed all divisional quality objectives by leading and aligning quality processes, teams, and available resources to deliver measurable, consistent performance outcomes
- Monitor, analyze, and report on key quality performance indicators across the Protein Business Unit, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement
- Translate divisional quality data into actionable strategic recommendations that support Almarai’s overall business growth and expansion objectives
Poultry Food Safety & Product Technology Oversight
- Apply deep expertise in meat and poultry product technology to oversee and enhance food safety standards across all stages of production, processing, and distribution
- Ensure all poultry and protein products fully comply with GCC food safety regulations, Almarai’s internal quality specifications, and applicable international food safety law
- Lead technical quality reviews, product assessments, and corrective action processes to maintain zero tolerance for food safety failures across all protein operations
Audit Management & Regulatory Compliance
- Plan, lead, and manage internal and external quality audits across the Protein Business Unit, ensuring all findings are addressed and closed within agreed timelines
- Maintain Lead Auditor-level oversight of FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 certification processes and audit readiness across all relevant facilities
- Build and sustain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, third-party auditors, and certification authorities to uphold Almarai’s compliance and certification status
People Leadership & QA Team Development
- Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing divisional quality assurance team, building technical capability and a genuine quality-first culture across the Protein Business Unit
- Provide expert mentoring, structured coaching, and clear performance frameworks to support the professional development of QA professionals at all levels within the division
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Poultry Science, Veterinary Science, Microbiology, or a closely related scientific field is essential for this position
- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is desirable and will strengthen a candidate’s profile significantly for this senior divisional role
- Lead Auditor certifications in FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, ISO 9001, and/or ISO 14001 are strongly preferred and represent a key differentiator for shortlisting
Experience Requirements
- 12 to 15+ years of experience within the food or poultry industry, specifically within a multinational food manufacturing environment, is an essential requirement
- Demonstrated expertise in meat and poultry product technology with broad food production and quality assurance experience across multiple product categories
- Strong and proven hands-on experience with ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, AIBI, and FSSC 22000 quality management and food safety standard frameworks
- Solid working knowledge of food safety regulations, GCC food law, and international regulatory requirements applicable to poultry and protein product manufacturing
