Position Overview
As Accountant at ZAS Facilities and Management in Al Ain, you will be a trusted and integral member of the finance team — responsible for managing the full range of daily accounting activities that underpin financial accuracy, compliance, and decision-making across ZAS’s extensive multi-facility operations. Your work will span recording and reconciling financial transactions, maintaining general ledgers, preparing financial reports and budgets, monitoring accounts payable and receivable, coordinating with internal departments and external partners, and supporting audit and month-end/year-end closing processes. Key Responsibilities
Daily Accounting, General Ledger & Journal Entries
- Record and manage daily financial transactions accurately — ensuring all entries are correctly coded, properly authorized, and posted to the general ledger in a timely manner
- Maintain the general ledger across multiple ZAS facility accounts — ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper classification of all financial data at all times
- Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepayments, depreciation, intercompany transactions, and other month-end adjustments as required by the closing calendar
- Ensure all accounting entries comply with relevant UAE accounting standards, internal control requirements, and ZAS Group financial policies and procedures
Bank & Account Reconciliations
- Perform regular bank reconciliations across all ZAS facility accounts — identifying and promptly resolving any unreconciled items to maintain clean, audit-ready financial records
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis — verifying that general ledger balances are fully supported by accurate, well-documented subsidiary records
- Investigate and resolve reconciling differences systematically and with clear audit trails — escalating material or unresolved items to the Finance Manager with supporting analysis
- Maintain organized, complete reconciliation workpapers for all accounts — ensuring the finance team is always fully prepared for internal and external audit reviews
Financial Reporting, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Prepare accurate, timely financial reports for management — including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and facility-level performance summaries
- Support the annual budgeting process and ongoing rolling forecast activities — providing reliable financial data and analytical insights to support management decision-making
- Conduct variance analysis between actual performance and budget — identifying key drivers, flagging concerns, and recommending corrective actions to the Finance Manager
- Contribute to the month-end and year-end closing processes — completing all required entries, reconciliations, and reporting schedules within agreed deadlines
Accounts Payable, Receivable & Audit Support
- Monitor and manage accounts payable across ZAS’s supplier and service provider base — ensuring invoices are processed accurately, payments are scheduled correctly, and supplier accounts are reconciled regularly
- Oversee accounts receivable activities — tracking outstanding balances, following up on overdue payments, and maintaining accurate debtor records across the multi-facility portfolio
- Coordinate with internal departments and external partners to resolve payment disputes, billing discrepancies, and financial queries efficiently and professionally
- Assist with internal and external audits — preparing required schedules, documentation, reconciliations, and supporting evidence to the required quality and within agreed audit timelines
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field — required for this Accountant role at ZAS Facilities and Management
- Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) are a significant advantage and will be given priority in the selection process
Technical Skills
- Strong foundational accounting skills — including general ledger management, journal entry preparation, and account reconciliation across multiple entities or facility accounts
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems for transaction processing, financial reporting, and data management — prior UAE-based ERP experience is beneficial
