Position Overview
As an Apprentice Application Engineer at Carrier Dubai, you will be embedded within the Application Engineering and Sales teams — contributing real technical value from day one while developing the skills, knowledge, and professional habits that define a successful HVAC application engineering career. Key Responsibilities
Technical & Application Support — HVAC Selections & Quotations
- Prepare accurate technical selections, compliance statements, submittals, and detailed quotations for a wide range of Carrier HVAC applied products and systems
- Handle customer and project enquiries efficiently using Carrier’s CRM and SAP systems — ensuring all requests are logged, tracked, and responded to within defined KPI timelines
- Analyze project specifications, schedules, and HVAC requirements — developing a clear understanding of project needs and selecting the most technically suitable and commercially competitive Carrier solutions
- Support consultants and end customers with technically sound HVAC product recommendations — preparing professional comparison tables and technical schedules that aid informed decision-making
Coordination, Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate effectively with Sales Engineers, HVAC consultants, contractors, and internal Carrier teams — ensuring all project enquiries and technical tasks are progressed smoothly and on time
- Follow up proactively on open enquiries, pending quotations, and project updates — keeping all stakeholders informed and aligned with Carrier’s response time and quality KPIs
- Attend technical meetings and customer or site visits when required — representing Carrier’s technical capabilities and building positive working relationships with key project stakeholders
- Ensure all internal and external communications are professional, timely, and fully aligned with Carrier’s customer service standards and KPI commitments
Learning, Compliance & Standards Awareness
- Stay consistently updated with Carrier’s product software, technical catalogs, and evolving HVAC industry standards — building deep knowledge of the full Carrier HVAC applied product portfolio
- Attend all assigned technical training sessions and mandatory ethics and compliance training — demonstrating commitment to professional development and Carrier’s values of Integrity and Excellence
- Follow all company Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) and ISO procedures — maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-organized working environment at all times
- Build awareness and working knowledge of key HVAC standards including AHRI, EUROVENT, LEED, DGNB, and DEWA — understanding their practical application in UAE building services projects
KPI Performance & Quality of Technical Submissions
- Meet defined KPIs for response time to customer and project enquiries — building a reputation for reliability, professionalism, and technical accuracy with all Carrier stakeholders
- Ensure the timely, complete, and accurate submission of all technical deliverables — including selections, quotations, compliance statements, and technical schedules throughout each project
- Consistently deliver technical submissions of the highest quality and accuracy — supporting Carrier’s reputation for engineering excellence in the competitive UAE HVAC market
- Participate actively in manager performance evaluations — demonstrating progress, initiative, and a commitment to continuous professional development throughout the 1-year program
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related HVAC field — required to apply for the Carrier Apprentice Application Engineer program in Dubai
- Final-year students or recent graduates with strong academic performance in HVAC, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or building services engineering are particularly encouraged to apply
Preferred Technical Skills
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and applied products — including chillers, air handling units, fan coil units, and other commercial HVAC equipment relevant to UAE building projects
