This Design Engineer – Mechanical role in Dubai involves designing HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting systems for commercial, residential, and hospitality projects. MEP System Design
- Design HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting systems for diverse project types
- Deliver designs for commercial, residential, and hospitality developments across Dubai
- Prepare detailed shop drawings, BOQs, and material specifications
- Produce clear engineering reports supporting design decisions and approvals
Calculations & Software Proficiency
- Perform cooling load calculations using HAP or equivalent design software
- Use AutoCAD for detailed mechanical drawings and layouts
- Apply Revit MEP for 3D modeling and BIM coordination workflows
- Maintain accurate documentation using Microsoft Office tools
Cross-Discipline Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and MEP teams throughout design
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings to identify and resolve design clashes
- Align mechanical designs with structural and architectural constraints
- Support integrated design delivery across all project stakeholders
Compliance & Code Review
- Review designs for compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA, and SMACNA standards
- Ensure designs meet Dubai Municipality and local authority regulations
- Prepare documentation to support DEWA, DCD, and EMAAR approval processes
- Keep designs aligned with evolving UAE building code requirements
Project Support & Handover
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimize cost and performance
- Assist with commissioning activities during project completion phases
- Contribute to smooth project handover documentation and processes
- Resolve on-site design queries during construction and installation
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience Requirements
- 6–10 years of Mechanical Design experience
- Minimum 5 years of GCC experience, preferably in the UAE
- 5+ years of work experience with HAP
- 5+ years of work experience with Revit
Essential Skills
- Strong expertise in HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting Systems
- Proficient in AutoCAD, HAP or equivalent design software, and Microsoft Office
- Revit MEP and BIM coordination experience is an advantage
- Strong understanding of design compliance and quality documentation
Certifications & Approvals
- UAE Society of Engineers registration is required
- Dubai Municipality (DEWA) Approved Engineer status is required
- Dubai Civil Defense (DCD) and EMAAR approvals are advantageous
