Position Overview
The Auto Electrician based in Dubai will work directly within the automotive electrical assembly team, responsible for the full installation, routing, testing, and fault-finding of electrical systems on heavy vehicles and truck chassis. This is a practical, production-focused role — not a workshop repair position. Day to day, you will follow engineering drawings and wiring diagrams to install harnesses and connect lighting systems, sensors, switches, relays, batteries, and control panels. You will use diagnostic equipment to verify system performance, identify and resolve electrical faults at the assembly and testing stages, and support the broader production and engineering teams with continuous improvement initiatives. A working knowledge of CAN bus communication networks is a distinct advantage for this role in Dubai’s advanced vehicle manufacturing environment.
Why This Role Matters: As an Auto Electrician in Dubai’s heavy vehicle manufacturing sector, you are the technical craftsperson behind every wiring harness, control system, and electrical circuit that makes a commercial truck safe, reliable, and road-ready. Your precision, diagnostic skills, and ability to work to engineering schematics directly determine the quality and safety of vehicles entering service across the UAE and wider GCC markets — making this one of the most impactful trades roles available in Dubai’s automotive industry in 2026.
Key Responsibilities
Wiring Harness Installation & Electrical Assembly
- Install and route wiring harnesses, electrical components, and control systems on heavy vehicles and truck chassis strictly in accordance with engineering drawings and assembly standards
- Perform all electrical connections for lighting systems, battery terminals, sensors, switches, relays, and control panels — ensuring correct functionality and long-term reliability
- Support the integration of complete vehicle electrical systems including 12V and 24V DC circuits and CAN bus communication networks where applicable on assigned truck builds
- Ensure all electrical installations fully meet quality requirements, applicable safety regulations, and company manufacturing procedures at every stage of the assembly process
Electrical Testing & Diagnostics
- Conduct systematic electrical testing using multimeters and specialist diagnostic equipment to verify full system performance and compliance with engineering specifications
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and rectify electrical faults identified during assembly, post-assembly testing, and production stages — quickly and accurately
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, circuit layouts, and technical documentation to support both installation work and active fault-finding activities
- Record test results, fault findings, and corrective actions accurately in line with production documentation and quality management requirements
Safety, Tool & Workspace Management
- Maintain all hand tools, testing instruments, and diagnostic equipment in a safe, clean, calibrated, and fully operational condition at all times
- Keep the assembly work area organised, hazard-free, and compliant with workplace safety and manufacturing hygiene standards throughout every shift
- Follow all relevant safety procedures and company health and safety policies when working with DC electrical systems, vehicle chassis, and production equipment
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate effectively with production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues affecting electrical assembly quality and output
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by contributing practical insights from the assembly floor to help refine installation procedures and reduce fault rates
- Communicate clearly with team leaders and engineers regarding assembly progress, technical challenges, and any deviations from engineering specifications or safety standards
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Diploma or ITI qualification in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Electrical, Auto Electrician Trade, or a closely related technical discipline
- Additional certifications in automotive electrical systems, vehicle diagnostics, or CAN bus technology are a strong advantage
Experience Requirement
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in automotive electrical assembly, heavy vehicle manufacturing, truck production, or industrial electrical installation roles
- Demonstrated practical experience installing wiring harnesses, connecting DC electrical components, and performing electrical fault diagnosis in a production or manufacturing environment
- Prior experience in a structured vehicle manufacturing, truck assembly, or heavy equipment production facility is highly desirable for this Dubai role
Technical Skills
- Solid working knowledge of DC electrical systems — specifically 12V and 24V vehicle circuits — and all associated electrical components used in heavy vehicle applications
- Proven ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical wiring diagrams, circuit schematics, and technical assembly documentation accurately and independently
- Hands-on competence with electrical testing instruments including multimeters and automotive diagnostic tools for system verification and fault diagnosis
- Knowledge of CAN bus communication systems and vehicle network integration will be considered a significant added advantage for this position
